~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

nickibink: Sarge's is pretty fun! Springhill Suites, Courtyard Inn, and Residence Inn are close to his. All good hotels from the comments we get (we stayed at Residence and liked it!) Sarge's will have the most info.
If your Sailor is staying in GL for A School.
After PIR you will have about and hour with them (until about 11:30) before they have to go back to to their ship on the RTC side, pack up and move over to the other side (TSC) and get checked in. This process can take several hours.
Your Sailor will call you when they can leave for liberty. That call comes sometime between 2pm and 5pm. You will meet then at the main gate when they are ready to go. They will have to return to their ship sometime between 8pm and 10pm (they will know the time).
You will also have Saturday and Sunday with them from approx 5am to 10pm. Those times can vary from ship to ship, and your Sailor will have been briefed on when they must be back. They cannot be late back to their ship.
Jana, There may be screens in the bathrooms, I don't know, but you are not allowed to "come and go" out of the drill hall (at least you weren't a year ago).
If you are driving peachy, you can leave the car seat in your car. If you take the shuttle you would have to carry the car seat with you, I don't think you can leave it in the shuttle (I wouldn't recommend it anyway).
Good evening everyone!
Trevor'sMom and LJK: my son is also training for corspman. He's in Div 206.
I wasn't planning on going to graduation, per my son's request. But my name is on the intended guest list, so I guess he changed his mind!! I would have been heartbroken if he hadn't listed my name.
My daughter and I are going to drive up. I've been looking at the different hotels and am going to check with the Ramada Inn first. But might check out the ones near Sarge's. I wonder which meet and greet is more fun?
We needed a suite because we have 7 in our group and we needed one of the 3 rooms to be a gathering place..The Marriott closest to the base was already booked!!
Hayden'sMom wow your fast did they give you a discount I looked at Ramada
ellen502 We will have a car because we are driving Thanks i guess i miss understood someones post I think they said something about the restrooms being near the hall In pic looks like thee is a large screen inside??
Since my son is staying at GL of A school will we have to leave then come back for him for Liberty??
Jana, Your daughter can take the stroller, however I would recommend not doing so if possible. The drill hall is limited on space for those kind of things. There is not anyplace to walk around during PIR, nor a large screen to watch outside the drill hall.
I always recommend to rent a car if possible it makes getting around before and after PIR so much easier and convenient. If you add up all the taxi fares etc. for where you are wanting to go, renting a car is probably cheaper too.
