OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Sending healing wishes to your SR Krow's Mom. Hoping things turn in his favor so that he can complete with his division and PIR next week

Prayers for him, Krow'sMom.  Sure hope that he is cleared and can continue with his division.

Krows Mom, I am so sorry to hear your SRs news. I too will be hoping he gets put with another group to PIR...prayers your way.

I got a call from my SR today (ship 13 div 209). He was sent to medical and "as of right now will not be graduating on time" as he won't be allowed to participate until they can have a specialist check him out which might be some time next week. He says he's fine, but they have to be sure, so not to worry.

I hope he gets put in with another group so that we'll be able to have a PIR ceremony with him later, but I know that's not what always happens.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE NEW SAILORS

Comment by diannep on May 24, 2013 at 6:59pm

Ok, so have to be careful here not to talk about specific divisions doing BattleStations on a particular day since we are not allowed to post that.  Soooo....sounds like they very well may be going on Monday night (some divisions) so hopefully calls will come in the next afternoon.  Remember, even if your SR goes through on Monday night, you may not get a call Tuesday if he/she had "watch."  So a good rule of thumb is to have those phones especially close during the time all are doing BattleStations.  Remember, they sometimes can call again later in the week once they are sailors, so it is a good idea to have the phone glued to you for that reason!  My son finished his BattleStations a week before his PIR.  But he got to call again on Tues night of PIR week when they had a pizza party.  So remember.....YOUR PHONE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND right now!  :-)

So... Diannep... are you stating in the previous post that more than likely we will get calls on Tuesday or should we not worry if we dont get them until Wednesday.  I guess we should just keep our phones close!!!! Please everyone chime in and let us all know and get this chain going when we all start getting calls so all of the Moms and Dads can get notice as soon as possible:) We are all in this together!!!
