Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning everyone, I hope today is a great letter day for everyone. Remember Monday is a holiday so any letters next week may be delayed a day in arrival. This is the time of year that my daughter went to boot camp. She actually left on May 25th 2010 and I was lucky enough to get a real letter before the form letter arrived because of Memorial Day. I hope you all get nice letters as well :)

PS, Poochie is doing much better and we are sure he will make a full recovery :) Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers. You guys are awesome!!!

On the car rental info, for most companies if you have full coverage insurance on your own car you don't need to pay extra for car insurance through the rental company unless you just want to. Just check with your insurance provider and make sure you are covered in a rental car.

Good morning Navy Family,

Quickly approaching 7 days..1 week can you believe it? Now we wait in anticipation for that "I'm a Sailor" call. Keeping that candle burning for all of our SR's to safely complete Battle Stations and for those who are struggling to pass their PFA..they are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am happy to report that I called RTC yesterday and spoke with a PO who works in event planning. She recommended that I tell my SR when he phones in his "I'm a Sailor" call that I need a guest changed on the list and that it shouldn't be a problem, but he is the only one who can do this so he must speak with his RDC..keeping my fingers crossed that my mom can take that vacant seat left by my ailing mother-in-law. Good days ahead :)
