N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got a letter from my SR today. He is on light duty, as of when he wrote which was saturday. Please pray for him and all of the SRs in his division to work as a team.

yes, you can do that, bnb&bmbmom.  Probably best to send them in a larger envelope.  She will have to open in front of RDCs but it's ok.

diannep...my daughter sent me a letter and asked me to send her paper and envelopes...do I really need to do that? If so, what is the best way to do so?

Donna93,  Goodness!  So sorry!  I hope this past week God has touched his back and his spirit and made him feel better.  Hang in there!  Have faith that everything will work out for the best.

Good Morning All !

Comment by diannep on May 8, 2013 at 8:11am

donna:  If he is reassigned to another PIR group, he will have a PIR.  The only ones who are denied this are the ones who have not passed final tests (PFA) by their PIR date and stay in the FIT program post-PIR to pass their tests.  Those sailors will not have a PIR.

And, it is a GOOD thing that they have not set him back yet.  Seems that the RDCs feel he can catch up with his division at this point so for now, he can stay there.  So that is good!  But if Medical does decide he needs more rest and he is "asmoed" (setback), he will eventually be assigned to another PIR  group/division.

Prayers that he is healed soon and continuing his training!

Thank you Hayden's Mom!  Donna 93, have faith that everything will work out just the way it is supposed to and everything happens for a reason even though we may not understand the "why".  I was afraid my son would be set back to being very sick with strep & sinus infection, but grateful he was only down 2 days.  Know that you and your son are in our prayers.

Much love to all of you and your support each and every day.  Makes this journey so much easier.  My daughters and I are so excited.  Have had the hotel reservations made for a while and we got our flights 2 weeks ago.  We ordered our ribbons (can't wait to get them!)  And looking into getting the challenge coin.  Sarge is hooking us up with the transportation.  Recuperating and trying to plan everything we'll need for our trip.  Have a great Hump Day!
