Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Jana: You can if you are using Sarge's shuttle service. But I would actually contact him before then to help him with planning. The Courtyard also uses the general PIR shuttle service so you can use that too. We signed up when at Residence when we checked in. Up to you. I believe they both charge $3/pp each way. Sailor can return with you (unless moving over to GL A School which will happen shortly after PIR).
You can text Sarge at 847 212 0246 or go to his N4Moms page on here for more contact info: Old Sarge is his screen name
It is so refreshing to read about everyone's plans for PIR Thou our SRs are in my daily prayers. Morning Noon and Nite.
We are staying at Courtyard Marriott Can you schedule the shuttle at the Meet and Greet? How does that work. Also my son is staying at GL for A school . So what is better to do take shuttle or drive. Not sure how long we would have to wait for him? I hear different opinions on that.
Our reservations are made already for the Navy Lodge. It gets good reviews, is close to base, and we'll have plenty of room to hang out.
It's so strange to think that THIS is our last "family vacation!" Now that the kids are grown, they'll be spreading their wings.
Ladies, be sure to be asking for the Navy Grad rate at the hotels. If you have AAA, ask for that rate too and compare. We used AAA on our stay, and it was recently posted by someone in a PIR group that the AAA rate at one hotel was cheaper than the Navy Grad rate. I booked the AAA rate online...don't know if that was cheaper than calling.
HaydensMom: You know there is a Residence Inn a little closer to RTC, right? Not sure if they still have rooms available, but it is Residence Inn Waukegan. We stayed there...it was great. 4-5 miles from RTC, very close to Sarge's MeetandGreet. We had a 2 bdrm 2 bth and it was wonderful. They offer the PIR shuttle service also.
michele: If La Quinta doesn't use the PIR shuttle service (make sure you ask for this, not their own shuttle), you can contact SARGE and use his shuttle service PIR morning if you like. Same price $3/pp each way. 847 212-0246
MomThatLovesHerSon: Could have been a computer glitch when you were trying to do that. You may want to go back to those blank posts, click on the "x" in the box, and delete them.
