~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

GingerMom their jobs often change while in boot camp and i am sure she will get a "new Job" It is very common to get fired so in your next letter let her know that :) Does she have other family members who will be able to go to PIR? If not maybe one of the moms who meet on here who also has a female will be able to sign her out for the day and she can enjoy some time off the base and dinner. If not maybe she could use their cell phone to call or skype with you and maybe they could take a few pics to send to you. We took two extra Sailors with us for the day and it was awesome :)
diannep: thanks I will send them soon. She was second next to Chief but got fired. So right now she isn't anything? She is going to A school for MA. She seems lost right now. Her Div. is not getting along at all. She is disappointed right now about how things are going.
GingerMom: What is her rating (job) in the Navy?
Yes, I would mark CONTACTS on the outside of the box/envelope. Send a very small bottle of the liquid. She will not get in trouble for having them now.
diannep- she won't get in trouble getting them now? Do I address them differently? I think I have to mark them CONTACTS though, right? She goes to A school in Texas. I will try and find the A school info. I trying to find my way around this page.
Momthatlovesherson - What is your son saying about his div? My daughter is so frustrated with no one listening! She wants to be there and a lot of the other girls don't seem to want to learn or obey! It seems to be holding everything back!
GingerMom: You can mail her the contacts now if you want to.
Where will she go to A School? You can join that A School group on here and get lots of info!
Hi GingerMom, my son is also Ship 14 Div 211 !!
Hi everyone, I am so happy! I got a call from my son this afternoon at work! His PIR is 5/31/13. He sounded good even though he had a cold. He said, "I'm doing good", which made me feel good and relieved! He had his wisdom taken out about a week ago and seems to have done fine with it. He is in a Push Division and day-of-training 3-1 will be tomorrow for him.
Also, during another chance, he passed the Prone Float test!! Woo Hoo!!!!
He said he did not pass his 1st PFA by a few pushups. I am sure he will get it!!
Hearing his voice made me so happy!
Happy and sad day today. My daughter got to call but said she would not be able to call again until after Battlestations! Ship14 DIV 211. I hope she is wrong. I had to tell her we would not be able to make PIR 5/31. She was sad but understood. We will try and do a vacation together when A school is over. Where do I find out info on A school? How do I figure out when I can mail her contacts? Thanks again for everyone sharing on here, it helps a lot!
