Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

DOUBLE SCORE for me yesterday! Got a letter AND a phone call! First words out of his mouth "Dad what's going on with the draft?" my daughter turned to me and said "Some things never change" and she is right! :-) He said they all got some kind of a pill last week and were told it would make them "sick" so that's why they are all sick, kinda like a flu shot. He also said next week is "HELL week". They had gotten measured for their dress whites and shoes.
He told us that they doing some "test" to see what keeps up the SR's morale and calling home more often is one of the tests... that works for all of us doesn't it?
I am praying for ALL of you and your posts tear me up--but that's okay.
Today is his 19th birthday...
Happy Friday to all! I also received a letter. My son is still struggling but pulling on the strength we send him in our letters. 5 Weeks from today, God willing, we will be reunited. Prayers to those having injuries and other illnesses, etc.
Congrats on the letters received yesterday! Hoping for more today for you all.
Good Morning!
You and your recruit are in my thoughts and prayers Donna93, I hope he gets good news next week {{{{{HUGS}}}}}
Good morning everyone, another week down and closer to your PIR. I hope everyone has been getting letters and even some phone calls. It should be getting a little better for them now that they have a few weeks behind them and it will continue to get better and better. The RDC's will even begin to seem human again lol. Continue to write every day if you can. Those letters are like gold and they read the letters each night just before going to sleep. They are what helps them get through the next day. Sometimes there are sadly recruits who don't have anyone to write to them. So ask your recruit in your next letter if there is anyone not receiving mail that you can write some encouraging letters to. I know they would appreciate it :) Try to keep your letters positive and not send bad news. It will be a lot easier on them if they think you are handling this okay. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and feel free to send me a friend request here if you like. I am happy to help in any way I can :)
Good morning Navy Moms!
It's a beautiful day in New England and in a few short hours we will be 34 days away from PIR..4 Fridays on the books..5 Fridays to go! I hope you all know that this site is the place that I go to where I can connect with others who truly know what it is like to have a loved one in uniform. Your shared experiences and encouragement help me to keep a positive attitude! Have a great day Navy Family :)
Thanks so much for the prayers and words of encouragement. I know he can push through this back thing if they will just let him. With all the baseball, football and track he did in high school he can get through this with a little time but I guess we will just have to wait and see... I am so Not a very patient person.
Hope everybody has a great Friday and weekend.
Morning Continued Prayers of Healing. Continued Prayers of Strength to all our SR's
Faith Hope and Love these words help me so much
Got 2 letters from my son yesterday and a phone call tonight. He sounded very happy.
