N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

trueblue:  That is what this site is for!  All on here understand your feelings so it is a "safe place" to share what you are going through.  I know it is a huge life change for all.  Including your SR!  So many SRs question what they have gotten themselves into when they first start bootcamp....cut off from family/friends, told every move to make, criticized endlessly, challenged, etc.

But just know that it "balances out" eventually.  You find a new "normal" at home and so do they in the Navy.  Also, know that bootcamp is but a "brief moment" in their Navy adventure.  Once in A School, you will feel so much better because contact is back again!  You may even wake up then to a text from your new sailor saying good morning!

So hang in there!

Good Morning All!

The last time I saw my son was 3 weeks ago today.....:(  This gets harder and harder...Last night it sounded like someone was coming in the door and for a brief moment, one long enought to hurt, I thought it was him. Just like in the morning before this all sinks in....that 8 seconds right after you wake up when you don't feel it yet...I know I'm proud, and my brain knows this is good for him, but my heart doesn't think it's good for ME! Sorry ladies, I just had to vent...and cry....moving on now.

Are there any other moms with Nuke daughters in this PIR group? There are eight guys in her division that are Nuke, but she is the only female. Hope there are some other girls out there in other divisions.

Texas:  I thought the song was good too!  Had not heard it before....was just looking for a song that was Faith, Hope and Love and that's what I found!

We never can have too much Faith, Hope and Love!

"Hope" and "Faith" can be defined by the ballroom dancer/instructor who was injured in the Boston bomb blast, lost her foot and is already telling everyone that she WILL dance again....and she will!  She said she wanted to inspire others who feel like their life is over in a situation like this, that they will live again and can do it!  What a wonderful courageous spirit she has!

Hayden's Mom, thanks so much for what you did to pay it forward. That brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful thing.

This site can be very easy with a few tips. :)

First make sure you bookmark this site with your browser, this page or any other.

At the top of the page just under the banner you will see "Tabs", "Main", "Invite", "My age", etc. Those are all clickable links and will take you to those items that fit the categories.

So, clicking on the "My Tab" will take you to all the things about you, setting, profile, groups you've joined etc. The items on that page also have clickable links.

Clicking on the "Groups" tab will take you to the main page for all of the groups on this site. To the left of that page and just under the "tabs" you will see "All Groups" and "My Group". Clicking on the "My Groups" link will take you to a page that lists all the groups you have joined. All of those listed are also clickable links, taking you directly to that group.

Click away a few times and this site will become easy peasy to navigate. If you get lost, click the "My Page" or "Groups" tab to take you back somewhere safe. LOL
