Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Just a little connection and I feel better. I hate they are all sick tho...praying your son gets through to your cell when he does get to call. Praying for health and strength for all the SRs⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️

We told our SR to call my cell when he could and when he called for info he called the land line. Afraid that if he gets the opportunity to call Sat. I will miss it. My younger boys have underwater robotics competition all day. Is there a way to have someone in his division tell him to call his mom's cell if they get the opportunity to call? Perhaps if another Ship 04 Div 197 mom gets a call have her SR tell him?

The post just said they were sick. I can't remember if it was on N4M or the FB page but they mentioned that with all the immunizations their immune systems are weakened and it is easy for them to contract something especially being in close quarters with everyone. I just want to read the post over and over again. It is nice to have at least a little insight as to what is going on with my boy. She did mention that he said he would be calling Sat. So I am hoping that Sat. might be the day! I hope so I am really missing him.

They are flooded with vaccinations when they arrive....which can temporarily lower their immune systems....and of course, with germs all around them in the form of lots of PEOPLE....they get sick...but they get through it and the illnesses aren't so bad as Bootcamp goes along.
