~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Jacob:  He may not get to call back this time...they may run out of time, but you never know.   So sorry you missed it but hope there is another one very soon!

Yes, Bears'Mom:  They do train a Recruit Mail Petty Officer to handle the mail.  So none of the SRs have received mail yet?  If not, tomorrow may be their first delivery of it...that would be the mail that has been held until the training of the Mail SR was complete.  They may be able to write letters to you tomorrow also....once they receive this initial mail delivery, they receive mail M-F.

Ugh!!! Missed his call! I knew it. I was at work and dad had just left to go to Granddaughters soccer. The message was all staticky. And my husband just deleted it without even thinking it was him. Will they get another chance??

I got a call from my man this morning as well. He's sick and losing his voice but he said he's doing good, and wasn't complaining one bit. I am so proud of him!

Just received the first phone call from my SR. It was really emotional in the beginning. He is doing good but definitely misses his family. It was great to hear his voice. I miss him so much. The SRs definitely need all of the positive encouragement they can get. We sent letters this past week but he hasn't received them yet. Other SRs started receiving letters this past week. We are in AZ so hopefully he will get them soon. I am so proud of my SR. May God continue to bless all of our SRs.

Just received our first phone call from our Navy Recruit...OMG she sounds wonderful. There was none of that "woe is me" sound in her voice. She did tear up she said only because she missed our voices (imagine that..lol) She sounded very sure of herself and determined! WOW the pride in her dad and I just grew by leaps and bounds. She wasn't complaining that she has head duty...now I know she is not second guessing herself...she did say the cards and letters are very important so make sure your recruit gets them....Have a great Satuday!!!

Ellen maybe you and Diannep should come here, it is beautiful, breezy and in the upper 70's perfect weather :)

Good morning Navy Family, I hope you are all having a great Saturday and doing something fun. Are you planting flowers, working in your yard? Spring is in the air for sure. My Dad and I are heading to a place in SC called Strawberry Hill, The berries are in and I can't wait to taste them. I will be putting a bunch of them in the freezer :) Happy Saturday everyone!

Come on down! :-)   But be sure to bring some cold with you....we are going up to 90 today and for the next few days with high humidity.....UGH!  No breeze today which is all that saves us from these high temps, made hotter by the high humidity---I will say though that my 2 mile walk starting before 7 a.m. was wonderful ....only 71 then!

Good Morning All !
