Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 223 and 224
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I hope everyone has had their first phone call - my son called Saturday and said the food was good, but he was really tired! That is probably a good thing! The recruiters must have done a great job preparing him for boot camp as he said it was about what he expected. I am so proud of our young people- it takes a lot of courage to volunteer to serve our great country.
Pretty much what mine said, too, Bronco Mom. Looking forward to seeing if there is a letter at home today - he said they were going to be able to write letters for the first time this past Sunday and I figure today would be the first possible day a letter might arrive.
Good Morning All!!! Our SR is ship 14 Div 224, haven't heard much from him. Missed a call from him last saturday and felt so bad that I cried for hours. Anybody know when they get to make another call? Do they get another chance to call if they don't make contact?
Shewolf, my son is in Div 224 also. My son called Saturday too and I almost didn't answer the phone because I wasn't expecting a call from him. He wasn't able to complete his 1.5 mi run and they let them call home when they haven't completed one of their tests, requirements or are sick or injured. After learning that, I decided it would be better if I don't get another call like that. My son said the Chief said their entire division needed to be in better shape! I know it is all part of the process and I did my best to cheer him on and build him back up, One day at a time, hope you get a letter from your son, I still haven't seen one of those. Are you going to PIR 6/14?
Hi We missed another call from our son, he sounded ok but he did leave a short messege.
Yes, I am going to PIR 6/14
Hi Ladies, my son is ship14 div223. I still have not received a call or a letter. I am soooo sad! Veteran moms have assured me that no new is good news, but I still can't help but worry why we haven't heard from him. I just desperately want to hear his voice. Such extreme emotions of pride & excitement mixed with missing him & being out of contact. Hard to handle at times. I still cry and wonder if I'm ever going to adjust to this new way of life. My heart just needs to catch up to my head! I'm so glad that this was created. It definitely is helping me & comforting me and now for our brother divisions to connect is even better! Hope more moms join! Have a wonderful day ladies. Always praying for our sons & daughters!
I'm betting he had watch duty, JJ4Navy - no worries! It is true - no news is good news!!!
debsproud....Im hoping that's the case. Im worried that he's missed his call privilege altogether. Someone mentioned that the end of the alphabet (he's both for his first & last name) may have not been given the opportunity because some of callers take up all the time before it reaches the back of the line. From what I was told, missed call privileges will not be given no matter what the reason. I'll be sick if I don't hear from him until after battlestations.....although that will be incredibly exciting phone call! No letter today :(
I'm so excited!!! Just got the first letter from our SR ship14 Div 224. He is doing well and he got his uniform on Friday and his tags on Saturday. Just very happy to hear from him, now it will take a little of the worry off of me.
I just received my first real letter tonight as well. He is learning lots of useful things like folding clothes and making his bed! It is tough not being able to call and talk to him, but I know he is in good hands and is well prepared for the task ahead.
