KC'sMom:  I think he will be calling you again for a longer call once he is settled into his new barracks.  I will message you for his address as I would love to write to him.

I am praying, too. Believe me. I am praying really hard. And Squeekers boyfriend has been on my mind even before I knew of my son's misfortune.  I'm a nurse and my heart just aches for them.  I don't see the good in this now, but my son is ALIVE and he is getting medical attention. I know there are people serving our countries whose mother's don't have it as good as me.

pianomom:  If today is 4-2 for your son, then next Tues is 5-2, and the following Tues is 6-2.  Sats and Suns don't count, nor do holidays.  They count from Day 1 to Day 5 on the weekdays only.  4-2 means "week 4, day 2."

and if you will private message me with your addresses (kc's mom and squeekerz) will gladly write to both of them.  they must think all these moms are over the top!  but maybe they would like some encouragement.

both of you (KC's mom and Squeekerz) have been on my mind so much today.  and i will try to pray as God brings you to my mind.  i surely do hope that we don't lose touch.  i want to know the rest of your stories and how the Lord works out the details.

I do have his new address. I know he is on "ship 4". I'm assuming with "squeekers" boyfriend. If anyone wants to write my injured son, I will be glad to give you his new address.  I've said all along, he is a thinker/philosophical type of person. Very smart, never athletic. He knew going in, that this would be his toughest portion of his entire 6 years, since he was scheduled to begin learning his new language at the Defense Language Institute next month (and he does really well in school!). Now his ankle is broken - he called it his foot, but I suppose technically it's his ankle bone.  He has to be devestated. And his phone call was rediculously short!  He was only allowed to call and say yes, it's broken, no he won't be graduating, gotta go. Fortunately I have not let my phone leave my side b/c I just knew the call was coming.

Oh my, KC'sMom.  So he has joined my SR in RCU, eh?  I wonder if they'll meet each other and be able to talk.  I have no idea what they do all day if they can't march and do PT...  At least you'll get a call once a week now to update you on his progress.   What's your SRs name?  I can put it in my next letter.  My SR is Patrick.

Welcome Archangel.. nice name!

Welcome Marie... my son is 931 also!

OH Miss KC's mom... heart aches for you and your SR.. but trying to look on the positive side, it sounds like they will do all they can to give him a chance to continue. Remember, your a women of faith.. and with God's help you are stronger than you think you are, and so is he. Sometimes we hit bumps in the middle of the road heading towards our destiny... it's what we do with them that counts. If we don't give up and just keep pressing forward, we will get to where we are going!  Sounds like your SR has a good head on his shoulders to press in and fight for his destiny!  Praying for extreme amazing quick healing that blows away the doctors..  ~smile~

P.S. --i think my question is: do the days keep ticking off that way no matter who passes what and who gets injured, etc.?  thanks
Comment by pianomom1 (ship 11/div 203) on May 31, 2011 at 8:37pm
somebody please explain the way the days are numbered.  i assume that every single day of the week is assigned a number, including sundays?  so if my son said that today was 4-2 for them, do they work up through 4-7 and then go to 5-1?  and does it keep going forward no matter what?  thanks, all you veteran moms.
