@fa4airtran- yes, we are!  I actually live on the outskirts of Cartersville, in Euharlee to be exact.  Small world!!  What is your connection with airtran?  I'm curious about your screen-name....do you work for Airtran?  Are they still around?  LOL....haven't flown in a while.

I like what that young lady wrote....good insight.

Squeekerz....I pray that things work out for you...get baking that fresh cherry bread!

KC's mom and SR keep healing one small step at a time....

My sailor is just starting his intro part then next week starts real BESS school. I thought two weeks was a long time to not have a lot to do....

I like the updates....miss you all!!!!

KC's mom.......looks like you and your son are on the road to recovery...it's been a tough couple of months for you guys!  And that is terrible about the hangman thing.  It will be SO MUCH better once he gets out of boot camp.....a different world!  Tell him to hang in there....hopefully it won't be for too much longer!

oh yes, let me not forget.... my foot. Still wearing an air cast. Next week I can graduate to an orthotic device less restrictive than the air cast!!!!

Seems I have..... torn tendon. fractured heel. Stress fracture on the lateral portion of my foot from walking on that side to prevent pain (prior to getting the boot). And let us not forget, plantar faciitis. Ah yes, I will never take Karate (tang soo do) again.

My poor boy got involved in some illegal activity in RCU. Seems that since there is nothing for them to do, a few of the boys started a game of hang man.  Those scoundrels!!!  As a punishment for their horrendous crime, all those involved in this horrific act had to sit in the middle of the floor for 7 hours without speaking. God, please get him out of there....

KrisMom- ATT school is Apprentice Technical Training (I think); it's a introductory course for all those going into electronics.  And thanks......not looking forward to class myself but want to hurry up and get it over with so I can go back to work!

My sailor's roommate wrote an excellent blurb about her experience in bootcamp, it sums up what they had to go through and how it changes them.

KC'smom - how great that he passed the first goal.  No need to rush, you want him to heal well and completely.

Squeekerz = It sounds delicious.  The best medicine will to be home and with you and his family.

Joy - sorry the Skype didn't work out, but glad that she was able to see the pictures.  August 17th is right around the corner!  How exciting!  What is ATT school?  I really need to learn more of these Navy speak terms.  :-)  Good luck with YOUR classes.

KC'smom--did he say how he felt when he was running that distance?  i would think that if he had any pain they would stop him.  so glad to hear that he is moving and grooving again!  how is your injury lately?

Squeekerz--proud of your cooking skills!  you go girl!

So far as I know, he was doing fine.  He even told me they had Dance Dance Revolution in the lounge, and he was playing that.  I told him I was gonna hit him 'cause he doesn't need to be playing that game when he hadn't even moved up any phases while in RCU. lol
