Thanks for the update, tysmom! Congrats on his great scores! I've sent dozens of letters....not every day but at least every other 2nd-3rd day. I've sent lots of pictures and cards. The last letter I personally received was dated May 15th; other family members have received letters since then so at least I know she's okay! But I really, really would like a letter =/
I got a letter from my son today. He got a perfect score on PI and WTI. He has passed his second PFA.
They had completed Marlinspike and received an average score
The disappointing part of the whole thing was that not every recruit put the extra effort needed to earn the Flags for their accomplishments and it is a team effort!
He said mail and chow are highlights of their day! Keep sending those letters!
He keeps asking about the sports stuff and I found that ESPN has info you can print out so we are sending him some of those.Especially with the NBA playoffs! You can use the back of the sheet for a personal note.
Less than three weeks left!
Thank you all. :) I haven't asked in the Ship 5 group, actually. I think I'll do that, so thanks for asking about it.
As for his attitude? From the way his mom made it sound, he wants to come home. He wants to be with us all. He wants to be able to watch his kids grow up, and doesn't think that the Navy was an appropriate choice for him. I don't know if all his doubts has to do with how hard it has been for him, or if he really is convinced it's not the right path. I'll continue to encourage him, but if he really will be miserable if he stays in, it would be best if he came home now if he has the chance, right?
o, squeekerz--that makes me sad to hear your SR's story. i will be praying that with all the rest he is surely getting now, that he will heal quickly and be put into another division just like diannep said.
