@KC's mom......which hotel?  I am staying at La Quinta; it's not as close as some (9 miles away) but I got a decent rate and they have breakfast =).  I am sooooo excited!  I am going to bring a box of tissues because I burst into tears just thinking about it!

Squeekerz, I know it is hard but I do hope you will stay a member and at least come back to this group and let us know how your SR is doing and when the new PIR will be. It may end up being a lot sooner than you think. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers :-)

Unfortunately I'm going to leave this group 'cause it no longer applies to my SR anymore.  :(  And seeing the countdown to graduation just makes me sad now.

Thank you ladies so much!  I enjoyed exchanging words with you all.  Keeping all of you and your recruits in my thoughts!

I booked my hotel!!  I'm soooooooo excited. Just wish we didn't have to drive 15 hrs. Well, actually 30 hours because we have to come home, too! Ha!

They will have their typical Sunday schedule...laidback--and then Memorial Day --holidays are treated as Sundays too, so I agree...hoping that the extra 2-day "rest" will give a boost to those trying to get well!

mynavyguy/meryl:  Yep, sounds like your SRs got the Ricky Crud.  It is prevalent in every PIR group.  Sometimes I think we ladies need to grab our disinfecting supplies and march on up there to get all of those germs out!  Of course, we would have hand wipes and all kinds of sanitizing things around for them...probably not the "tough" the Navy is trying to teach them!  :-)

Hoping that all who are sick or injured heal soon and don't miss training!

I just had 3 friend requests from people wanting information on the ribbons to wear to PIR and when I accepted the first one the others disappeared. If you were one of them and I did not respond please send me an email to uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com and I will email you the info for placing an order. Thanks so much :-)

It seems like that would be a good idea, but so many would never go back and finish. I think they are more likely to become a Sailor if they stay and wait until they are well enough to finish. Now, if they could let Mom come there and take care of them while they mend, I think that would be wonderful :-) Just have moms take turns, a different mom each week. I would go and my kid isn't even there any more :-)

KC'smom--if that is part of your platform, i'll vote for you!

When my son called last time he mentioned that there is a guy in his division who got a stress fracture and couldn't participate and he would have to stay at boot camp until it heals and he can continue from where he left off. I feel really bad for those guys. If I were president...... I would change it so that our boys could come home and then return when they are better!!  But, I'm not the  president. (hee hee).
