Hello to all,

Can someone Please tell me when exact the I'm a sailor' call will be made?

Thank you and God Bless to all.

Thursday is the day I usually get his letters.  He is having a medical issue and was taken off base on Tuesday for some tests. (He is fine.) A very sweet nurse told him that his ride was coming from base but it would be a little while. She then took him to a private office with a phone and told him to call home. She understood that he doesn't get much phone time. Bless that sweet woman! She knew I was anxious about his test. He was very upbeat and was laughing and telling me about the people in his div.  He let me know that he is grad-n-go, that he was eating well and that he missed his family.  He was himself! Such a blessing.  Thank you Lord!

yes, mamacindy, we can trust the God who made this universe with our SR's.  i forgot who said this, but it is so good--"we can trust His Heart when we cannot see His Hand..."    i have no earthly idea what God is doing in Great Lakes with my son right now, but i can certainly trust my God who loves him even more than i do.

looking forward to meeting many of you in a few weeks.

Squeekerz, I agree you have been given wonderful advice on here.  There is one thing that I always tried to remember when I received letters from my son.  It would take at least 4 days for that letter to make it's way to me, so whatever feelings he was experiencing when he wrote it, were probably long gone by the time I received it.  Your SR may have been having a tough day that day and you have to remember that they usually do write at night, after a very long and hard day.  I was reading a description, just last night, of the job requirements for my son's rate and one of the main things that caught my attention was that they had to "be of good character'.  What a wonderful thing to have in a job description in this day and age.  All of our sailors, in my eyes, have good character and that is something to be very proud of.  I would continue to encourage him and tell him how proud you are of him.  He is coming to the end of BC very soon and after BC, things change drastically.  There will be Skype, and phone calls, so it will get easier for you and him.  ((hugs))

21 days!!! Thursday - mail day in my world - so hopeful to hear from my SR, but not near as anxious as we've been in past weeks.  Welcome new friends.  N4M has been such an encouragement and source for information since 4/18.  Can you believe they've been gone that long????  Sometimes it doesn't feel like it's been that long, other times it feels like it's been years!  Have a wonderful day as we wait, pray and hope the very best for our SRs.  Thank you, God, that we can trust you with those dear to our hearts.

A warm welcome to luv2stmp!

Sunny, I loved your comparison of Navy life with life issues...bills to pay, etc.  I have had to illustrate this to my son many times...there are really so many parallels between military life and civilian life.

Squeekerz:  Hoping today is a better day for you!

Welcome to the new members and hoping all have a good day...which would be even better if calls/letters come from your SRs!  HOOYAH!
