Just bought 3 more books of stamps last week.  Except for sending Christmas cards, I haven't used this many stamps for years!

That's great meryl, Sorry I wasn't here to answer, If anyone else tries to get a room at the Navy Lodge just let them know that you are coming for PIR. It is usually best to call the Navy Lodge in Great Lakes not the 800 number. They may put the room in your SR's name. They will tell you that after PIR your Sailor will need to come by the front desk, but then they never made us actually do that.

Lala Ribbon Queen:  I called Navy Lodge again and had no problems getting a reservation. Sounds like a great deal.  Thanks for the suggestion.

They can be setback for different things...illness, injury, discipline, a failed test, etc.  But remember...a very small percentage actually are...and if they are, it is not always a bad thing!  My son went into his next division with a great attitude and did well.

What happens is that wherever your SR was in training when removed from the division, that is where he will start back with another division once he is no longer asmoed.  You don't go backwards. All of the training you have up until then is counted and you continue.  Now, for punishment, it is possible that an SR could be sent back to repeat training...but that is usually reserved for those who really have discipline issues.

None of them want to be setback, but it happens, and once they become sailors, they move on just like the rest of them!

talk to me about being set back.  that is one of my son's nightmares, i think.  he has an injured foot but of course, doesn't want to say anything because he might be set back.  so, if you are set back, do you just pick up where everybody else is in their division, even if it means going backwards a week or 2?

pianomom:  I wish I could give you more info on receiving no calls...but they are totally up to the RDCs in each division...my son happened to be in 2 different divisions because he was asmoed (setback) a week.  The first one allowed lots of phone calls; the 2nd allowed hardly any.  It is just up to them.  Don't worry...the calls will eventually come!

Lala, I tried to reserve a room at the Navy Lodge but they said that an enlisted person had to escort us and check us in. How did you reserve your room?

None for me either but I'm keeping the phone close like Jessicasmom.
