We have arrived from SoCal. So excited can't go to sleep. Knowing the wake up will come soon. All I keep thinking of is seeing him for the first time. Not sure if I have packed enough tissues. What a day to come for all of us. Again thanks for being there! Navy moms rock!

I was so sorry I couldn't be at the meet and greet tonight.  We left from central GA Wednesday morning and made it almost to the IN line when we stopped for dinner.  As we were waiting for our meal, our SR called to say he could not pass the running part of his PFA and would be held over for a couple of weeks.  I haven't quit crying since.  I wish all of your sailors good luck tomorrow and pray you all get a wonderful visit with your guys/girls.  I'll miss you all.

Enjoy every second Joy!

Yeah It really is SOOO much easier being able to drive onto base. It will give you and your sailor probably 30 extra minuets together at night because you don't have to drop them off super early and walk back! Although you still will want to get on base maybe 20 min before they are supposed to check in (normally 8:45) because there will be a huge line of people waiting to sign back in!

If you don't have a military ID your Sailor is still going to have to walk to the gate to come get you in the morning, but you can then drive with him in the car back on base to go sign him out.

By the way Squeekerz, MA is "Master at Arms" which is the navy's version of military police, I think.

So I finally made it here after a 13 hour drive!  It should have been 10 hours but it took an additional 3 hours to get through Chicago.  Word of advice for anyone driving to PIR..........avoid CHICAGO like the plague!!  I promise you I will never set foot (not tire) in that city ever again.  I would rather fly into Wisconsin and drive south, I think!!  But enough grumbling.....it will all be worth it when I see my sailor daughter tomorrow!  I am so excited!  And thanks for the information m3!  This will make things so much better!

You ladies are lucky, the base became unrestricted today! You are allowed to drive on again! So if you have a military ID (wives/husbands or other military members) and sailor is staying in GL make sure you go with him to the visitors center with your Military and registration and proof of insurance and you can get a temporary pass to drive on base with out him in the car.

If you don't have a military ID you can still drive on base as long as your sailor is in the car! For the past almost 2 months you weren't able to drive on base meaning your sailor had to walk to the gate, get you, walk back with you to his ship so you could sign him out, and then you had to walk back. and same thing for dropping him off at night.

Haha.  I'll do that.  I think he just hushes people 'cause they're talking.  He just has to make sure no more pranks go on.  I never thought they'd be bold enough to play pranks at night... tsk tsk.

Squeekerz:  if your man finds my son up late b/c he is writing his mom a letter.... ask him to let him be!!  hahahaa. I want mail!! My son wrote me a letter explainig "night watch". sounds boring.  I know they get to sit in RCU when they do it rather than standing. Oh, I think it was called "stand watch".  Anyway, I know he is bored over there. He said he showed his get well cards from the 1st grade to his fellow ship mates. He said everyone thought they were funny.
