Yes indeed! She was told she was being separated, but by some act of God she was able to fight for another chance. Her very last chance was yesterday. Her sister, who I met on here ("proudsistah"), got the call this afternoon that she is a US Sailor. If anyone is able to look up people by their profile names, feel free to congradulate her, as she has most definitely earned the title of Proudest Sister!!!  She encouraged me through my son's ordeal even with all that she had going on with her sister.

KC'smom, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I was so sad for this precious girl who wanted so much to be a Sailor. I am THRILLED for her! It's just the best news, next to your Sailor of course!

@KC'smom--wow!  hyperventilating!    that is great!  i too was overwhelmed when those doors opened.  and do you remember that several of us posted that our sailors were also overwhelmed when the doors opened and wished they had been more prepared for that emotional experience--without ALL contact for so long and suddenly hundreds cheering and applauding.  did your son say anything about that?  i would think his experience would be worse because he was there so much longer.

so happy for you today.  now let's pray for our country and the HUGE mess and decisions that must be made today.

KC's Mom - So glad you finally got to experience the emotions & pride of PIR. My two favorites moments were when the door opened & there they were & when they sang "Anchors Aweigh" Enjoy the unlimited texts & phone calls!

Wow, the meet & greet was so much fun, even if I did just join the PIR group! I guess there is always drama, as 2 young men failed their final run & could not do battlestations, but made it on the make-up & were able to sit on the bleachers during PIR and officially graduate bc. Also, a mom's son broke his foot 14 days before PIR- just like my boy. Such a stressful time for a lot of people. I will most certainly be purchasing that DVD! I COMPLETELY lost in when they all recited the sailor's creed & began hyperventilating. My kids were pointing & laughing at me so I was able to stop b/c they made me mad! He is already in California now & texts me! Awesome!

I've just gotten online today and am about to shed a few tears of pure joy over our newest Sailor!!!!  Bravo Zulu for sure!!!  A minute 15 to spare!  WOW!  Awesome.  That will make him much more prepared for A School.  My Sailor had a rude awakening when he got there and they had shaved 30 seconds off the run time and were most strict on form for push ups.  He will be READY!  My son passed his PFA a couple of weeks ago, but was afraid it might take him 3 months to get his speed up.

I feel the same joy that we did over the float and so many other issues during boot camp.  What a long road we've traveled together.  Thank you, God, for where you have led each one and for the privilege of traveling it together.

YAY!
