Hey Ladies - I almost laughed out loud in Wal-Mart yesterday and had to tell you about it. I was zipping around getting groceries and saw a female with her cell phone sticking out of her top/bra - which was a bit low cut if I could see the phone, don't ya think? - REGARDLESS - my first thought was....you know what I'm thinking - wonder if she has a SR at bootcamp and is waiting for ANY call from him?!? She was a bit young to have had a son, but I guess she could have had a sweetheart. I got so tickled and knew you girls would be the only ones who could truly appreciate it all! How far we have come. We were SO filled with raw emotion and desperation in those days. I don't know what we would have done without each other. Have a great weekend. It's fun to continue to hear what's going on in our various Sailors' lives. KCsMom - we're still here for you! Cheering your whole family on from afar. fa4airtran - have a FANTASTIC weekend! Take care all!

@KC'smom......arghhh!!  I was so hoping that I would see (definite) good news posted..........I think the fact that you haven't heard from him must be what you are suggesting.......surely he would have called if it were otherwise!

My daughter just started her ATT school today, and is already missing being on hold and all the freedom that goes along with it, lol!  I had to laugh.....she recently got phase 2 status but told me today that they are either adding or upgrading phase 3 status......and consequently, changing some of the phase 2 rules!  So, for phase 2 you still cannot stay out overnight on weekends, and have to report back in by midnight.  Of course I don't see anything wrong with that rule, lol!  She said she spent today doing "indoc" and they also learned first aid got their first aid certificate.  So, she waited nearly a month to "class up".  I told her to get used to waiting........=/

Wow.....it doesn't take long to get behind on posts.....trying to catch up from being absent for almost a week!

@fa4airtran - cool!  Just let us know if there are any good airline deals to Chicago, lol!

@squeekerz - Congratulations!  I wish you guys the best!  Thanks for posting the pictures!

@fa4airtran - yes! The things we do!  Such as ..... cancel my family vacation that the kids were all looking forward to, so that I can be available "in case" my son has PIR at the last moment. Ugh!

I have heard nothing from my son. I guess I was hoping he could call me to let me know if he moved into a new division - but I don't think they let him call. I'm hoping he is in w/ a division but I have no way of knowing. I guess if I don't hear from him this weekend that means he's back in a reg. division. No news is good news. We had to cancel our family vacation b/c we don't know what's going on and we don't know if he will be doing PIR when we were supposed to be on a beach somewhere. It's sooo frustrating.

My son's A school will be a 48 hour drive for me!!  hahahaa. We live in Md. and he will be in California for 18 months!!! Yes, his A school lasts 18 months!!!!!!!! Argh!! after A school he will be on the same coast as me but probably 12 hrs away.  Audrey 6 hours is awesome. Def. could handle that!!!!!!
Comment by Audrey on July 13, 2011 at 8:50pm
My sailor called tonight and talked for over an hour! He is leaving for A school on Friday.  A six hour drive is so much easier than a 2-day trek north!
