I got a letter today. He was his weird, funny self. He said his division is doing well and will get to visit "Recruit Heaven" this week. (It's an arcade and they will get to make phone calls.) He said that the day he was writing that he was tired because he had watch the night before and, when he got back to his ship, he had to fold clothes and do his ironing. He said he now understands why I hate to iron so much. The whole family had a good laugh at that. I am notorious for breaking out in a rash when I even look at an iron! LOL
fa4airtran- Insomnia must have been contagious last night for some reason. I didn't go to sleep until about 6am and was only half asleep when an idiot called and woke me at 8.
Linda- The high next Friday at GL is suppose to be 70. I'm wearing dark slacks, a bright top and a jacket. Keep in mind that our shoes need to be comfy and our skirts need to be longer because we are on bleachers. If you wear white slacks, you are a braver woman than me. Every time I wear white, I manage to sit in or brush against something that stains. But, that's just me, Klutzy Lou!
I'm not good at scrapbooking but my bff is. I bought a Navy scrapbook from Hobby Lobby and my friend is going to help me create something special for Tony.
Just think ladies, this time next week some of us will get to meet face-to-face! You'll be able to recognize me. Just look for the gray-haired ditz that resembles the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man! LOL
These last couple of weeks are "hard" ladies...I know. You are waiting to hear from them (it's a busy couple of weeks for them too. You already know that and that adds to it for you) and you are busy yourselves trying to get ready to go see them. Then there is the anticipation OF seeing them.
When I read the posts on PIR group during their last two weeks I can "feel" the tension...and the excitement! You all share so much with each other...
It got, near the end, to be where I could not WAIT to get on the plane! I hadn't flown in 15 years and I did not much before then either! It was just that I knew that by that time it was a done deal as far as getting ready etc. I could breathe...a bit. LOL
Hang in there!
I think if he moved he would have called. My son called the day he moved. Squeekerz, did you or his mom get a call the day he moved to ship 4? So far, it sounds good for you. But if you have a gut feeling, I know how it is. I was told no news is good news. Problem was, it was a holiday weekend and the guy in charge of signing the papaerwork to move to ship 4 was not there. That's why he had to wait until the Tuesday after Memorial w/e. I had a bad feeling all w/e and all day Monday. Did not let the phone leave my side b/c I knew it was coming.
Lala if I scrap booked I would buy one, but I don,t and I won't be doing it anytime soon.
I too did not get a letter for over a week. We need to trust that they are in good hands. They have a lot of work to do this week. My SR did not even know when they were scheduled for BS 21 and I do...no orders...they have fire fighting this week and a lot of classes and lots of new things to learn....yeah it would be nice to know stuff....I use all of you to fill in the blanks...Thank you!!!!!
One week ladies.....only one more week!!!! We can do this!!!!
