KC'smom--i have gone through the same things as you mentioned--stages of grieving.  and yes, i am excited with all these ladies who have kids who will graduate.  i hope that we will be there--but in reality, our SR has sort of warned us to expect a call from him that either he is going to be retained or more probably that he will be separated.  i personally am grieving big time over that one, and praying daily that he will get to continue to train after he gets back on his feet.   but if i don't write alot, it's not because i don't already feel a great kinship with all of you.  i truly hope to meet you all one day.  (and don't worry, i still read all these posts)

I'm progressing through my stages of grieving!!  At first, everytime I saw you ladies talking about PIR I cried. Now I am okay and feel very excited for all of you.  I can't wait to see pictures that you all post after graduation. !!!!!

Lala, I don't remember what his DIV was.  I will check with his mom this evening when she gets home from work and get back with you.  Did you ever dream that your daughter would be where she is now?!

meryl what was his DIV and PIR date? My daughter was in DIV 936 and had PIR July 23rd :-) I can't believe how much can change in one very short year and how fast the time passes.

Lala, thank you for posting the pictures.  I thought they looked familiar!  A dear friend of mine whose son graduated from BC in July of last year had also sent me these pictures right after his PIR.  What a coincidence!

MamaCindy, I got teary eyed reading your beautiful post. Thank you for sharing.  It IS an emotional time in all of our lives. I thank the Lord that I was fortunate enough to meet all you wonderful moms and be able to express how I am feeling and have those feelings validated by all of you who are in the same "boat" (can't stop thinking Navy :0))   Will not be able to make the Meet and Greet but hopefully will run into some of you during the pre and post ceremony.   To all moms who cannot make the graduation I will be praying for you and your children that God will bring comfort and peace to you that day.  I wish the best to everyone's sailors in their stay with the Navy.  God bless you all!

Audrey, my son is headed for Goose Creek as well. Is your son a future Nuke?  In my newness to the Navy, I don't even know if others go to Goose Creek for A School other than Nukes.  I believe we have at least 2 other future Nukes in Div 205.

My family will be very thankful if I don't embarrass them at the airport with SunnyB!  (and pleasantly surprised)  Heck, we may get all that humiliation out of the way on Friday!   Can't wait to meet all of you who will be able to come NEXT FRIDAY!  Can you believe the word "next" is in our vocabulary when it comes to our SRs?

To those of you who will not be able to be there, we will shed enough tears of pride and joy to go around for all us moms and we will be shedding them for all these SRs who have endured and triumphed together!  And there'll be a few tears mixed in for those we came to love over cyber space who became injured or too ill to make this graduation.  What an emotional time in our lives.  I don't think any of us who were novices had any idea what this site would bring into our lives during this time.  But isn't that what women do? We come alongside each other, cheer each other on, cry with one another, vent to one another, pray for one another, dance all the way back from the mailbox -  then let our fingers dance on our keyboards, then are able to go on about our everyday life b/c we know some other human being understands what we are going through.  So close! Dear God, keep them all safe from injury and illness today, help those who have a final hurdle to get past accomplish it for their good and your glory.

Lala -beautiful pics- thanks for sharing  them with us.

ckwinn- just post on here what DIV your son is in and I am sure one of the moms will be happy to post more pics of that group. I have even seen moms who's Sailor was in the same DIV and they had their son find the sailor and they took pics of him after PIR to post for mom and a couple who even took that sailor with them for the day or to dinner. After all, we are one great BIG Navy family now :-)

Hi Audrey,. I think we should tell these guys that their moms are friends and now they have to look each other up. :)  WAIT this means that we may be sitting at the same gate waiting for the same airplane! right? hmm... maybe we need a secret wave or something to find each other. I can hear my son now... oh boy, there goes mom!

*Yeah Cookies..! My son requested BIG little Debbie cream pies, and I'm discussing how many boxes to bring to share. I'm thinkin the'll have sick tummys.

*yes to the electric razors, I'm asuming your allowed to have a regular razor on the plane? I mean you couldn't shave someone to death could you? But no to the body wash, since it is liquid and they have to do carry on. You could always send a care package in the mail later.
