Freebird - Thanks for sharing your secret  :)  Did he have to get special permission to leave the airport?  How did you go about it?  Thanks for your help!

I asked my son, if he wouldn't mind - could he please PIR on my birthday in July, as I have already put in for vacation that day. Otherwise, there is another vacation request I was granted in August and that would work fo me, too.  hahahaha

KC'smom--thank you for encouraging me today!  squeekerz--are you feeling better yet?  if you lived here where we live, i would make some soup and bread and bring it over.  it feels WONDERFUL here today--in the 70's right now--such a glorious day!

I just realized that by the time my son gets out of RCU he will have a new time for his running test. He will likely turn 20 while still in RCU. That's good for him b/c I think they get a few extra seconds added on to their time for the age range of 20+. (tryng to find a positive in all of this, even though he did actually make the needed time requirement prior to his fracture).

If by chance, your SR does get ASMO'd RGW, just know that I personally will be on this website along with squeekers for a very long time, as we have no PIR date for our SR's.

Thanks diannep,

I got a call last night from my son and he failed the running test and is getting asmoed to the FIT division. He said he will get to try one more time today. If he passes he gets to call me to let me know to come to the PIR this Friday. If he fails he will call when he passes. Its a bummer but on a positive note his recruiter just told me he stays in the FIT div until he passes. Even if it takes months. Im sure he is disappointed but being discharged from the Navy would stick with him the rest of his life. He has always wanted to be a sailor.

Some Prayers that he passes today would appreciated.

Squeekerz:  Ugh....I can imagine...I know you must feel like you are in limbo with your SR's situation.  Even though you and he may not be sure of exactly what you want to happen, the Lord knows...and you are covered in prayer.

How is your SR doing with his injury?
