Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi, I am new to this group. My son is in Div. 208 Ship 14. I received a phone call(really a few) today. He needed some paperwork for clearance. I was really happy to hear from him. We were both crying. He said bootcamp isn't that hard, but he had only been there 10 days.

Is anyone planning on going to the Meet and Greet the Night before graduation that The Sarge puts on?

Comment by Basketcase on May 14, 2014 at 4:02pm

tromar66 let me know if you hear anything from our division about change in graduation.  I'm sure I will hear something soon.  I didn't know about the hold and now push!  praying they catch up and graduate on time.

Thank you Navywife&mom and Griselda.  My daughter did try and call Saturday but told her friend that she couldn't get through for some reason. Not sure why.  But she was able to talk to a friend.  I am praying that they still Grad on 06/20/14  All my reservations are booked.  I have insurance on everything but it's still going to cost money to change flights.  I heard about the the hold.  I didn't realize that meant they may not graduate on time?  I hope they catch up!  Still no letter or calls.  I just pray I hear something soon.  Her friend didn't remember everything correctly that was said so I'm excited to hear it from her.  Thank you all for your insight!

I also haven't gotten any calls from 814.  My sons wife has gotten letters though.  I sent 3 large manila envelopes of cards and letters to all of 814 ship 04.  My students and the rest of the classes at my school made them.  Gotta love kids!  "Thank you for giving your life to protect mine."  was a common theme among the cards.  I'm so proud of my son and wanted to be able to do something for him and his shipmates.  I hope they enjoy reading them as much as I did.

No call from 814 yet.  About 4 letters received too.
