Welcome all new SR moms, dads, girlfriends, wives and other family members! I am NicksMom and my sailor was in PIR 6/8 Ship 02 Div 930 until a few hours ago.  He had to make the dreaded call to say he was set back for two weeks for fraternization. Don't have any details! Since I am a few weeks ahead of you in this whole journey, Let Me Say This: Everything you are feeling, experiencing, and going through - it is ALL normal and a whole bunch of us have and are going through it too. Please use this site to chat, share thoughts, ask questions.  This is a huge emotional roller coaster for us and our SRs.  We stay strong and positive and can say (almost) anything here; with our SRs we stay focused on helping them become better people and most of all United States Sailors!

Actually got a phone call from my son today but only because he needed some information for his security clearance.  Only talked for a bit but he is doing fine except for some bad blisters and chaffed arm pits, lol.  Was soo good to hear his voice, he sounded upbeat but said it was tough.  Not used to being screamed at all the time!  He said they have been in holding for the last 2 weeks, not sure what that means.  Super happy mom today!

Hi Motorwife - not exactly sure why they would be in holding that long - but usually it is to fill a company.

Thanks for your response, Nicks mom!  So, is your son now in Ship 03 Div 188?

Yes, he is.

Send Band-Aids! The blister kind work great and if you stuff a few in each envelope, it won't cost extra.  Any additional one he has received he can share with the other guys.

Hi Julie!

Hi Julie!  Nice to hear from those in the same ship and division!  This is all new to me so I never know if I'm posting in the right place.  My son, who is going into IT, says I'm electronically impaired :).  Yes, I am!  lol

Just got done making our travel plans for graduation June 22nd.  We have to fly into Midway because it was the cheapest/direct flight to Chicago from the closest airport to us.  That Southwest can't be beat!  We'll be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott.  Looking forward until then.......

Can anyone tell me about Lala's ribbons?  Or have the website?  I'm feeling out of the loop :(.

Hello all,

I have been away from the site for a few days which seem like an eternity.  It's nice to see that there is a Division group as well.  Nick'sMom - I'm sorry to here of your son's set back but perhaps it is a blessing in disguise.  Good luck to us all... it's just a few more weeks... right?
