After PIR, your new Sailor will know how much liberty they get. If they are staying and moving to "A" School in GL, that will take 3-5 hours. They will call you when done and meet you at the gate. They can escort you on the base than.
If they are leaving Sat for out of state "A" School, they will know how long they have liberty and will normally be allowed off base for a few hours. Again...if the new Sailor wants to escort people on the base they can.
On RTC base they are very limited where they go. On the main base they can see more, but not go in bldings (unless they go in the barracks the new Sailor will be living in, but they can only see a very small part of the barracks.)
Does that help?
Thanks Angie. This does help. So basically, if he does not leave for A school until later, if he escorts our additional family coming to Great Lakes, but not graduation, they can come onto base with him. We are wanting to visit the Navy Exchange store, and but not all of my family can attend graduation due to the 4 people limit. Thanks!
