Hello. I'm ship 03 div 933... learning my way around site. missing my son:(
Hi Angela - Is your SR in Ship 02 or 03 ?? My SR is in Ship 02/Div 933.
I'm being very patient ... just acknowledging how fortunate you are. Enjoy!
Capricorna- yes, i will be at the PIR! Wouldn't miss for anything. A freind of mine son's graduated same time last year. they stayed for weekend. Navy puts on big 4th weekend, she said is great and to enjoy; it is free. unless he has to leave the next day for next training, we're staying all weekend.
Hi IndyMom!
How cool is that that our kids were chosen for this special honor - a 900 group! My son has no band/choir/marching experience, so I can only guess he was picked because of his "stature" (straight and tall). I suspect there might be some pretty big bigwigs attending this (esp. because of the Navy Seals'... and Mrs. Obama and Biden's push for support of the military). It's a perfect photo op... Anyways, most of all I am looking forward to getting (or hearing about) the "I'm a sailor!" call more than anything. That's the important thing. My son was already out on his own for a couple of years, so I don't have the separation anxiety that some moms have. My son spent the last 2 mos with his dad, so dad got the call, box and form letter. I hope he graces me with a call eventually.
I plan on attending the Meet & Greet at the Ramada - will probably stay at the Residence Inn. I hear it is nicer.
So far, it is just IndyMom and me on this discussion group. I know that Linaka's SR is also Ship 02/Div 933, but she hasn't joined us yet. There is a Division 932 and I am guessing that it is the brother/sister division to 933.
There was a neat article ("blog"?) that I found written by a gal who gave lots of detail about her experience in boot camp. You can read it at:
