Do you know he's leaving after graduation?  I had thought they would be in Great Lakes for a bit, prior to heading to CA.  My oldest was there for several months before heading out, but some went after about a week.  That is old info...but I wasn't expecting him to leave for CA over the weekend?
Hi SWCCMOM, my son said he would be in Great Lakes for 9 days before he flies to CA.  I don't know if he will be taking a class or what.  I haven't heard what he can have with him while he is there.  If you find out, let me know.
Deneen...I am not for sure now bc I am hearing both ways!!  Ugggg....I guess I will find out in a couple weeks.
My husband will be off to Coronado for A school & said he will have to go to a class in GL for a few days after graduation then he will be off to A school.  However, before he said he will have liberty all weekend to join us for the festivities.  My MIL just informed me that she read they can have their cell phones & lap tops, too, but I can't confirm that.
Welcome.  Is he doing SWCC?

Welcome!  My son is going to SWCC as well.

Yes...my son is doing SWCC!!  Looking forward to meeting everyone and following up through all the traingin and stuff that they will be doing.

My son mentioned a couple scenarios and I do remember the 9 days as one of them also.  He didn't say why, but maybe it's because of a class.  Hoping he gets leave time too...I arranged to fly back out on Tuesay...not wanting to miss any potential visiting time.  Seems like it'll get clarified in the coming letters...

Can you believe it's June 1st ?!  Calendar's flying by...cannot wait :)

Looking forward to meeting you all!

One thing to remember about this group is that not all are on the same path, some are swcc, eod, diver, seal, etc.  They all go different places to train after BC.
As far as the cell phones and laptops - take them with you to PIR, there you will get the info as to whether they can take them then or if you will have to ship to them, it may be different for each one and there is one correct answer that will apply to all.
Has anybody heard from their SR as to when they will do Battlestations?
I have not hear anything.  I didn't get a letter from my son last week so I haven't had any updates for a couple weeks.  Maybe they will be able to start writing more and we'll get more news.
