Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good morning everyone, hitting the road this morning with the rental truck and heading back home to the mountains. This was the quickest trip to the beach ever and the hotel had feather pillows. UGGGG I can't breathe lol

I agree with Diannep, sadly if there are guests not on the list it is best to wait at the hotel. The Chapel is hit or miss and there is no way to know when they will ave it open. We have had people in past groups who had to leave base after waiting in that long line to take family members back to the hotel and then drive back to base again :(

Congrats to the new sailors of 211/212! Those new sailors will be allowed to hit their racks at 8 pm tonight...earlier than normal. I'm sure there will be no complaints!

ProudSista: They let some extras into the Chapel but I had contacted Brian Walsh at RTC a while back and he said that they ask that all extras stay off base and watch the Livestream at their hotels. If there are children, elderly, disabled, or others who need to be close by their family in the PIR Hall, they most likely would be allowed into the Chapel to watch it. No guarantees though.

Ladies I need your help- This morning when I talked to my brother on the phone he mentioned that any additional people that is not on te PIR list will be allow to watch the PIR from somewhere in the base is this correct? I don't think he is correct because I read somewhere in this page that if you are not in the list you are not even allow inside base, right?

Got the "I'm a Sailor" phone call this morning! Sounded very tired and very happy, lol Can hardly wait to see him!! Congrats to all the Navy Mom's and their new US Navy Sailors!

Oh yeah- he was on his way back from somewhere on base and they got taco bell with baha blast- he was very excited
