For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I agree with Tink37! We are all in this together and hearing what is happening in the other divisions is helping us get through this...we just wish we could hear from our SRs also. It is all over very soon now! Yay!

Luke's Mom: No worries, lol. Just our Mom frustration coming out. I'm actually really glad many of the families got calls from their SRs. It's nice to hear what other divisions are doing. We're all in this together.

Girls I am sorry. I didnt mean to upset any of you that havent received calls for a while. I just assumed everyone was on the same page. My SR is in division 260. I can almost guarantee you all will be getting phone calls very soon. I had not heard from my son since June 6 till this weekend. He said they are almost done and had time to relax in recruit heaven.

I think they are brother or sister companies, but to punish the both because of what one person said in the other division? Man, it would have to have been said in a tight setting with both groups present and said loud enough for all to hear. I'm trying to see a positive in here somewhere...no one's telling so maybe they're coming together after all despite suffering the consequences. I'll try to see it that way, lol.
We'll all get earfuls from our recruits on Friday, I'm sure!

Not sure! I wouldn't think so, but something similar might have happened in 258! Or maybe they just got the tougher RDC's. Luck of the draw...so to speak. I am also glad to be at the end of this! I hate being so emotional all the time!

I wonder if since 257/258 are brother divisions, they were punished because of the name calling, too. UGH! I'm so glad this is almost over with. ~Tawana

It was 257 I believe. I did not get a letter last Thursday from my SR, so I can't confirm it. But the news came from another recruit in 257 who did send a letter.

Thanks to all of you for your support. That makes me feel better. I sure hope I get "the call" today too!! Can't wait for Friday!!:)
