OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@Trudy, I heard that too, but I cannot remember which division. I think 257/258 or 263. That's horrible. :-(

Sandy W,

From what I heard, one of the SRs called the RDC a "bitch". They did not know who it was and nobody confessed. So...they all are paying the price I guess.

I've been wondering the same. I heard that Div 258 earned 2 calls, but they never got them. Heard from our son, Div 258, on June 6th like everyone else. Have gotten letters with bits of information here or there. His last letter he sounded very upbeat, so I'm hoping the Div is coming together. Praying and hoping for "the call" today. Hoping I can find some more information.

@Trudi, that's a good point! I know only from letters that their company was being IT'd as a whole a lot in the beginning. He's never had individual IT sessions, but he did mention being dropped with a group once for yapping, that was weeks ago though and he learned his lesson. When I went through we had groups of people get IT'd as well for talking when they shouldn't have been, but no punishments were put on us as a whole division. Heck, I got individually IT'd once for forgetting to lock my locker--the recruit master-at-arms turned me in. Lol

I should think for an entire division to be punished, it'd have to be something pretty bad. Or, like I said, some RDC's just won't allow calls no matter what. :-/

Sandi,

I am on both fb and N4M. 257/258 (brother divisions) have been very quiet with information due to lack of phone calls. Most have gotten letters each week, but not containing alot of information.

His div had been pretty bad from what he's said. Has anyone else in div 258 received a phone call?? I don't do Facebook so this is my only source of info:(

Sandi and Sandy W,

My son is 257 and we have not heard from him either since June 6th. Very difficult to swallow since we have been reading about all the mom's posting that they have had several long phone calls from their recruits. Although I am happy for them, I am sad for those that have not heard from their SR. I wondered the same thing as Sandi, but did find out that div 257 was being punished for bad behavior of one of the recruits. I also hope it was not my SR who was responsible! But then again, they say, no news is good news!

@Sandi, my son is in 264 and it's been since just after Father's Day since our last call--he's passed everything so far too and has written weekly. Sometimes RDC's don't allow them to call regardless of how they're doing. However, and unfortunately, more than likely it's a form of punishment put on a whole division for just a few screwing off. I can only hope if that's the case that my son wasn't one of the recruits responsible!

Oh, we all know 262 won the integrated Captain's Cup, but does anyone know who won it for the all male division? No one in the FB group knows. Lol

Hi Luke's Mom,
So happy you got to talk to your SR this weekend! What division is he in? My son is in div 258 and we have not received a phone call since June 6th! He writes every week and has passed everything on the first try and even earned 2 extra phone calls. Anybody know why we aren't getting calls?
