Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Amy, your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers. I really hope they pull through and recover quickly. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Also have those who are struggling with the final PFA in my thoughts and prayers. they can do this.
We made it home in time to watch the fireworks from our front porch because they were rained out on Thursday. Living in town has its perks :) It will be so good to sleep in my own bed tonight.

Good Morning Everyone! Less than a week to go. Yay! We got a letter yesterday from our son. He sounded so great in his letter. He is really pumped and excited. Really hoping we get a call from him this weekend, but not holding my breath. I think we won't here from him until after battle stations.
Got to finish packing us all up for our trip. Have a great weekend!

Captains Cup for this group tomorrow morning! All divisions. Normally, some in the PIR group are already sailors, but since there were no BattleStations this week for them, all are participating as SRs. It is a very fun athletic competition for them which they very much enjoy!

I got a call from my SR around 12pm and for the past 10 minutes now I've got 6 calls from the 847 area code but I can't hear anything. I think he's using the calling cards I got him through the program online. It keeps calling me back and the automated voice says I have 1 minute left and hangs up. Ahhhhh
