OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ladies, just a reminder that for those who cannot attend your PIR, be sure to give them the link so they can watch it live!  It is located under the PAGES section, under the MEMBERS PHOTO BOX, at the top right on this page...and there is also a discussion above with the link in it.  Pass it along to friends and family.  They won't want to miss it!

Good Morning! Happy 4th of July. So, glad we are in the single digits to see our SRs.

Sending prayers and good thoughts to all SRs, especially those that may be struggling to pass their PFA's.

Happy Indepedance Day! Just 8 more days!

Prayers to the few SR's that are struggling with their PFA's. May we lift them up in prayer for strength to succeed.

Good Morning and Happy July 4th!

I believe the only restriction is it has to be black or silver.  Gold is only for officers, so that one looks good to me.  Don't forget to check out Challenge Coins at www.pirgifts.com.  Those have a special connection to the Boot Camp days!

There are restrictions on jewelry but not watches.  That one should be very nice!

Does anyone know the specs on what type of watch the sailors can wear with uniform.  Am thinking of this one for graduation and want to make sure he can wear it!  http://www.amazon.com/Casio-G7900-1-G-Shock-Rescue-Digital/dp/B0028...
