OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Oops, cruising through the posts and well...Yes, it was intended for Ladichez.

@Ellen, I think you meant those words for Ladichez. But they're very nice!!

I have a son and as far as we know he's passed all his physical tests. He was running and doing push-ups and sit-ups months before bootcamp.

Ladichez, I spoke to my husband and told him about your daughter. He said he remembers that being an option back during the late 80s. I was in BC in the 80s too, I didn't remember anything about it. His memory is better than mine though. They really do want these kids to pass and will do anything they can to help ensure they do. Hang in there. :-)

Thank you! All prayers are appreciated. I soooo nervous. I know she will pass but I hate that its so close

Sandy, I am not sure about the swim option to replace the run in BC, I have not heard of that. I do know that your daughter will be given every opportunity, lots of help, and people to push her and cheer her on to pass. She can even pass the run on Wed before PIR and still make it to PIR.

The RDCs really do want everyone to graduate at this point in their training. Hang in there and I am sending a prayer you daughters way!

Good morning everyone! We are so close to seeing our SRs. Hope y'all have a great weekend! I'm still on cloud 9 because we got letters from our son. Woot, woot!

You're welcome Ladichez. I'm afraid to touch your post about a swim test being an option because in the fleet, the swim test doesn't exist in the yearly PRT, but the run does. If an option to swim is available though, sounds like she won't have a problem.
Comment by Ladichez on June 29, 2013 at 9:59am
Thanks sandy W in her letter she said she had an option to swim it if she can run it so I think that may be an option for her since she was the swim captain and she is used to the 500 in 10 minutes. I'm really stressing over here. Starting to get sick every time I think of it :-(
Comment by Sandy_W on June 29, 2013 at 9:55am
@Ladichez, everything I've read says they will work with those who can't pass all the physical test requirements. However, she needs to do so before Battlestations. There's still plenty of days left for her. If she can't do an already scheduled Battle Station, she'll do one with another group. Again, that's based on what I've read.
