Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Willy, some will get calls this early but most will not. Usually calls that come this early are for security questions or they earned the call for some reason. It has been happening more often lately so keep your phone handy just in case you get lucky :)
Happy Memorial Day everyone.
I'm a little worried, I haven't heard any thing from my SR yet it seems that a lot of you have received a call, is this a call that should wait for? Or it may not even happen? I did receive the first call, the box and the letter, I'm assuming most of you had received a second call? :(
Hi everyone! I am new to Navyformomscom. My son left for boot camp on May 14th and graduates on July 12th also. Thanks CatMom509 for the area code to watch for. My son called my daughter-in-law Saturday morning and she shared with me what he said. I was so glad to hear that he was doing so well. He was promoted to Section Leader. I am very proud of him. Thank you diannep for the hotel information. I will be booking my air and hotel this week.
trudy, Recruit Training Command on FB will post pictures of the divisions there from time to time.
Thanks tink and diannep I will Check into both of those.
Do they post pictures from RTC? I thought they did, but I can't find it anymore.
Happy Memorial Day!

Good Morning All !
Morgan/Yani/others traveling alone: If you don't want to rent a car, you can use Sarge's Shuttle Service from the airport/through the weekend. He is wonderful. Has a MeetandGreet too the night before PIR, tons of info. You have more freedom if you rent a car....just up to you. It is also probably cheaper to rent a car than to pay for various shuttles.
