My daughter is in same ship and div. She mentioned in her last letter 44 girls. She did not say how many boys.
Any other loved ones is this ship and division?
My daughter also left on May 24th and 2 letters for us also! So wonderful to get those letters! She did call for info that the Navy was requesting even though we turn in all required papers on my citizenship when she signed. My husband talked to her both times. She could not talk freely but she did briefly answer my husbands questions.
She is good and all is well but she would really like a cup of coffee and a cookie!
She said that 937 is a performing division. They will carry the state flags at graduation. 44 days til graduation!!
PS She also added, (her b/f graduated 5-20-11 the friday before she left on Tues) now you know how i felt waiting for those letters, and let me tell you it doesn't get any easier waiting!
Got letter from my son today. Was very happy! He is holding up OK. They had swimming test last week and Physical test this Tuesday. He did OK on swimming and I hope that he passed physical too, but we will see. He also told us that he got 7 shots. The food is good and he has very balanced meals.
I know you are relieved!! Those letters mean as much to us as they do to the SR's. I am sitting here wondering how I am gonna make it until next week to get the next one! She said the food was good also, said she had not seen the same meal twice, always different, which she liked.
Cute story: The day she left, I sat at MEPS with her all day. She had spent the night at the hotel as required, there were 3 others shipping out with her. Everything was fine to her, one guy when they got to MEPS she said just kept complaining, the bed was too hard, the pillow was too hard, the food was awfuland definitely was not a fine dining experience and just on and on. Finally, one of the MEPS personnel said " Was the food on a plate or the floor?" He responded "plate", MEPS personnel said "sounds pretty good to me, but when you get to Great Lakes you make sure you tell them how you were treated at the hotel!!!!"
We really had a good laugh about that.
