@Stacey that is crazy! Hope you can find something out to save money. Can you not use the shuttles or train?
thank you ellen0502 for your reply that makes me feel better. my sailor has never had pink eye so this is a new one.
Manny24, Your recruit will be given medicine for the pink eye, and his SIQ day was probably because of it. Pink eye is a common problem in BC, and they do their best to keep it from spreading, but it still gets around.
Having the flu, a cold, bronchitis, etc is also a very common thing in BC, it seems to hit just about everyone at some point. Failing a PFA run because breathing is difficult, also not uncommon. Your recruit will be given meds for that if needed, and will be watched to prevent it from getting worse. If he needs time, he will be SIQ (sick in quarters) or on LLD (light limited duty) for a couple days.
No worries about it all though, the RTC sees it all the time in every division. He will be taken care of, and will still make it through training.
James's_Proudmoma, The Navy Lodge is not on base, but it located in the family military housing. So technically it is located on Naval Station property, but it is not behind a gate.
