For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Has anyone received letters or calls from their SR in div 256? I miss my recruit like crazy! A call or letter would definitely lessen the stress. Ive made a trip to the post office everyday. I know that the one day I don't go, it'll be a letter. The one day, I don't have my phone, I'll end up getting the call.

Yes, on the moleskin. But wait until they request it and then send it in separate envelopes....so as not to create alot of thickness to the envelope so that they don't have to open it in front of their RDCs. They are allowed.....but the SRs just don't want attention drawn to them.

At the same time though, as much as we dont like it, being in pain is a part of the experience of basic training. "Builds character" and all that. The Navy Recruit Training facebook page just stated they are not allowed ro recieve any type of care packages, so i would rather go on the side of caution then potentially get my SR in trouble.

I was worried about them getting in trouble for moleskin also. I was thinking about sending some. My SR doesnt normally have issues with blisters, but i thought it would be nice for him to be able to share with those that do need it. Moleskin is thin enough to be able to fit in a normal sized envelope, but i still dont know if it would be considered 'contraband'. I personally wouldnt see an issue with it

Good morning all, I have a question about mole skin for blisters. I read on a post someone sent their sailor mole skin can we send something like that to them without them getting in trouble.

love4one, You can do a couple things to help your daughter get through these days.
You can put jelly beans, or animal crackers in a jar that corresponds to the number of days until you leave, and one for the number of days until she sees her dad. Each day she can take one out and watch the number in the jar go down.
You can also do that with a "paper chain", you can write something on each one that means something to your daughter, and each day tear one off. She can see that chain get shorter too.
