~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

What is the reason for moving ships? If we don't hear from our SR and they move will their mail be forwarded?
Comment by MomofHAN on July 1, 2014 at 12:23am

When I spoke with my SR yesterday, he told me they had been measured for their dress whites :)  He was so excited - that much closer to wearing boxers again!

For those divisions that might be changing ships (barracks), the division number remains the same, so if you don't have the new address yet, the mail will be forwarded by way of the division number.

Thanks @Breesmom, that's what I thought, but wasn't positive! I'll just wait for confirmation too! I'll keep you all posted too. Have a good evening!

The last time he called he told me I would not probably hear from him for a while. he sounded okay did well on his first test 5.0, did have a stuffed up nose tho, said he was getting better. I know talking to calsification is normal from what I read, but I just worry cause I don't know if it was him, it came up unknown. But the first phone call I received other than the I am here, (that came from his phone) was unknown as well. Ugh I hate the not knowing. I just tell myself if it was bad they would call me again, so everything must be fine. :(

proudnavymom:  Hmmm.....it is hard to say why he was calling and since your mailbox was full, he couldn't obviously leave a message.  Usually when they are supervised calls, they are not allowed to leave messages.  But if he was getting awarded a personal call, he could have.  I would try not to worry right now.  I missed a call from my son too when he was there, no message (unusual for him).  He didn't call again for a couple of weeks, but I googled the number and found it was from the medical part of RTC.  Yikes....turned out that they were reviewing his medical history, had a question, but when I didn't answer, they solved it up there and didn't need to call back.  Soooo.....hopefully all is ok with your SR!  I know you won't totally relax until you hear from him again thought....we are moms and that is what happens!  Hang in there....hoping he can call again soon.
