Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

tabu, if you are asking if they get leave after BC and before A School, generally and almost always the answer is no, even if there is some time between the two. They will get leave after A School if there is no C School before they go to their permanent duty station, and they will get leave after C School before they go to their permanent duty station.
After BC they will still go to their A School location, and they will be given things to do. :) Liberty and Leave is not granted after PIR weekend until they phase up (emergency requests excepted).

Is it tomorrow yet!?! :) :) So excited and I can't wait to leave so we can see our SR. I think I've already checked out of work early. Have to hang in one more day!

What are the chances of my SR getting Liberty between BC & A School? With PIR being 08/02, he doesn't start A School until 08/12. Do they allow them to take Liberty at that time?

I cant wait till Friday. Found this quote and thought to share....
Graduation day is tough for adults. They go to the ceremony as parents. They come home as contemporaries. And after 18 years of child-raising, they are unemployed. I really hope my son never fires me. =:)

Didn't sleep worth crap. I kept waking up every hour or so, thinking I leave today, I leave today.
