Yes my Grandson is Ship 11 Division 243 and you can find his mother on this site also look for Cory's mom

Thats me...Cory is ship 11 DIV 243 (and that's grandma who posted just before me LOL)...

SOOO glad to have found someone from same ship. There are a couple on here from their brother division (244) and there is a fiance on here from our SR's ship.

My SR was on limited light duty when he called Wednesday. Im SO hoping he's off it now. He also said his division was having a hard time coming together as a group but others have posted this is completely normal and eventually they will!

Sydney

I got that impression also, but I know it will all work out. I miss Jon like crazy but am finding comfort in writing him each day.

Yes, i write Cory about every other day...but sometimes two letters go out on one day. LOL. He said to keep writing as it helps with moral. Unfortunitely Cory's moral isnt very good right now. He's stuggling right now due to having surgery on feet which means light duty but mostly because he was told by his recruiter he was staying at Great Lakes for A school and then at Great Lakes he was told he's being sent to Pensacola on Saturday. It was very upsetting to him to find out he cant spend the entire weekend with us, his grand parents and his girlfriend. He sounded so down when I talked to him. Its hard when you read others saying how their sr's sounded so good. Cory's not a wimp and is never got home sick as a kid. I think it will get better for him. Especially when he gets off the meds they have him on and his feet heal so he can return to participating at 100%.

I miss Cory like crazy too. This is one of the hardest 8 weeks Ive ever had. Its the not being able to just talk to them at an easy phone call or text!

Where are our phone calls??? LOL. Have you heard from Jon as to if he knows Cory? I asked him in my letters but no response yet. Hope you are hanging in there! We have three weeks left...so glad!
Hi!  I haven't heard from him in two weeks. He wrote his grandma and said he was good but I haven't heard anything. I'm hoping to get a letter this Friday (that is when they usually come).  I'll let you know if he writes me about Cory.  I write him everyday but I think it's more for me than for him.  I feel closer to him when I write, you know what I mean?
Yes, I know what you mean. But he did tell me the letters help them tons!

Cory's letter this week was front and back. Much longer than normal. Maybe they had more time to write this week. Not sure. We are in the home stretch!

Are you making it to Graduation?

So glad you got your letter from Jon today! So he sounds good? I got cory's yesterday and he sounds so much better than he did a couple weeks ago. And he said he's going to be carrying a flag in their PIR. So he'll be up front. Pays to be short LOL.

Says they did well and earned three of the four flags.

It was so good to hear from him - in his last letter he sounded very discouraged. He said that Cory is in the bunk next to him!  I can't wait for the next two weeks to go by so I can see him.  I hope that we can all meet that day.
That would be awesome to meet! Cory never answers any of my 100 questions in his letters LOL. So I didn't hear about Jon. Hopefully he didn't say Cory was one of the screw ups. LOL. Cory says there are a couple in their division who have caused them lack of privileges such as phone time. I guess I look at it that not everyone is created equal. If its not some smart mouth comments and more just a couple struggling physically or academically then maybe they are doing their best. Of course all our SR's see is the punishment from all iof it. LOL. Poor guys.

We are so close! After this graduation today its one next week and then our turn!!! Yeah!!!

I got a phone call last night! My son said that they are participating in Battle Stations today and tomorrow so we should be getting the "I'm a Sailor" phone call on Friday!

So ready for those phone calls! Glad you got a call. Did he earn his call? Maybe Cory only called his girlfriend if the whole division called. Yep, burning my candle tonight. Will be sitting on pins and needles for our calls tomorrow!
