Looks like we're the only ones so far.

Hello! I hope you get a letter soon-even if it is the form letter. I am hoping for a regular letter soon! Are you planning to go to PIR? I am looking into flights etc. now.

You are both much farther away than we are. We are about 800 miles from Great Lakes.  We've decided to see some sights and drive - hope we don't regret it.
My son is ship 09 Div 247. We are planning on going to graduation.  I received my form letter on Friday. Two lines from my son, great to get something. He also just called me for like 2 mins. to get his banking information.  But he did say that he would get to call soon!  :) We live in Ohio, so it is about an 8 hour drive.
I booked a hotel room at LaQuinta Inn in Bannockburn. Others had recommended it on this site. It seems a great value- $59.00 per night! I called direct and got the graduation rate.

Are you planning on staying the whole weekend and seeing sites in the area? So far no others? Have you heard anything yet?

We have reservations for the whole weekend and flying home on Monday. No letters (other than the form letter) or phone call yet! I was hoping a call would come yesterday-now I'll be waiting for the mail to come and hoping for a letter. There seems to be only 4 of us so far. Did you check out the pics on Facebook? I swear my son is in one of the pics but the rest of the family isnt sure it's him.   Have a great day and hope we all get contact soon!!
No, I haven't checked out the pics on Facebook yet. Where would I find them. If you would let me know I would love to see them. I am not very good on the computer. I can type but that is the extent of my computer knowledge. I guess I will have to get better at it if I want to know anything. : ) You have a great day too!  I hope you get info soon. It would be so great to hear from them. Thanks
I sent you a friend request so I can send the link to you-if you are on facebook you can search for U.S. Naval Recruit Training and add them.
Anyone get a letter yet? I just want to know what he's doing and how he is.

No letter yet-Hopefully the mail will bring us all a letter tomorrow-the wait is so hard!!  I feel like a teenager waiting for the mail each day-we watch them grow but can't stand being out of touch with them!

no letter for me yet. I am hoping tomorrow or wednesday. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I agree with feeling like a teenager waiting for the mail. Or maybe the way I feel when I am waiting for a big check in the mail, like taxes.  : )  But I am positive the letter will bring me far more joy than any money that I have ever received....
