Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Okay - I looked online, I tried the "translator" for Navy acronyms, and I still don't know what my daughter is... She said she was section leader (that makes sense), and got moved up to (it sounds like) A ROC. What is that? It's not something that I remember from her book that her recruiter gave her, and I'm confused... Help?

Hello Moms. I am writing a letter to a SR that does not receive any mail. Got a good start, but I ever done this before so I need some input. Any suggestions what I could write? I like the letter to be more than just a half of page. Thanks for your help.

It is a head shot diannep, just not the front of his head. I would, but I never get them. I suppose I could take all the photos and put them together. It might look a little weird though.

Your son is very sneaky, ellen!  Please eventually post a full headshot of him so we can see him!

Mot-My son is also on Ship 09 Div 243. It was nice that we had calls the day prior to the 4th. Im sure our children had a memorable one being in bootcamp. Im hoping to receive my second letter soon; he said they went out in the mail on Monday but I'm sure the mail is slow with the holiday. We had rain all yesterday so fireworks will be tonight! Be well!

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!

Haven't been around much due to my "real job" taking too much time away from my fun. Then my power supply on my computer failed, then my secondary hard drive. Bleh...hate computers sometimes.

Hey diannep, Guess what I did get during my absence... A new pic of my son on ship.

Hahahaha!

This pic is from a "Steel Beach Picnic". They have these on the last Sunday they are out at sea and ready to head home!
