~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi all, I finally got a chance to get on here. It's been a busy crazy week. I got all my work finished early and we are now in Wilmington moving our daughter back home from college. Quick trip here today and heading home first thing tomorrow. I wish we had more time so we could spend a day at the beach :)
Is everyone ready for PIR? I know it seems like a long way off but it won't be long at all until you are there :)
Oh, and he is div 245 .. I am sure you said somewhere, but where are you coming in from? I live in TX :)
Diannelynn, Dianne is right, we are flying out Sat pm, he will b going to A school in Pensacola, and from everything I have read, they leave right away..
Dianelynn: If your sailor is flying out to A School, you will have PIR Day until about 8 or 9 pm, when he must return to RTC. They will bus them to the airports a few hours later to wait for flights on Saturday (although sometimes some may not fly out until Sunday, in which case your sailor would have Liberty on Saturday too). You can meet your sailor at the airport and with proper ID, get an airlines pass to wait at the gate with your sailor until departure.
For those with sailors staying in GL for A School....they will move over there shortly after PIR is over....takes several hours....they will then borrow an existing student's cellphone or use a payphone/their telephone card to call you for pickup. They will have to be back on base that night....but will have Saturday and Sunday Daytime Liberty from early in the morning until later that night.
Dianelyne..my family is :)
@ Dianelynn Currently I have a reservation at the Red Roof Inn, when i looked online it had nice reviews so I cancelled my reservation at the quality Inn and booked there. I called Holiday Inn Express and Courtyard by Marriott and I just dont see paying $109 per night which they said is there Navy graduation rate. I want to use my money to spend time with my boys not for the motel i will be sleeping in. I dont even know if my son will write me. My other son didnt send any letters. but he called like every Saturday until 2 weeks before PIR. So I am really hoping to get a call tomorrow. It would be nice.
bettyboop: Check out reviews on the Red Roof Inn on TripAdvisor.com. I don't have info on them, but we advise all to check out comments on TripAdvisor when seeking info on a hotel.
Marni: I'm so very sorry....I agree with CatMom....if she wants to stay and it is something she is willing to fight, she will be entitled to Legal representation!
