~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I received my phone call early Saturday morning... I was so glad to hear from him!!! He told me his PIR date is 08/08/14. I am trying to figure out the best route to take as for flights, hotels and renting a car because my SR's disabled Gma is coming too. She will also be in a whellchair. I also saw something about a meet and greet as well.... I'm a newbie and any suggestions or advice to make this as smooth as possible will be greatly appreciated!

No problem on the names on the guest list.  My son did the same thing when there.  They get to update their lists shortly before PIR, and then they put in the proper names.  If ID of guests is different than nick names they may put on the list, be sure to write them with the exact name on the ID they will use to access RTC.

Good Morning All !

Hello All, My SR send me the official letter with the access list, he wrote Mom, Grandma, Dad and stepmom, but no official names? I send a msg to 2 other Mom from the same DIV and they said there SR did the same. I am going to write him today and include our official names for him to put on the access list, I am just worried he is so busy and forget to do this, or perhaps he will receive the letter to late, what is your input? Thank you all,

CelticMomma, they volunteer for the performing division but once in that division they can audition for a spot in the choir, band or drill team :)

2ndtimearound, If his whole name is on his ID I really don't think it will be a problem. It shouldn't be any different than going by the first name and having the middle name on the ID but not on the list. It should be fine but if you want to make sure you can always call the PAO and ask them the question. You should be able to get the answer without even telling them who your recruit is :)
