OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

navymomtrustinggod, how devastating for your girl, and you.  I just want you to know that I will be praying for her every day until we here the good news that she has passed her test.  She will.

Good Morning All !

Calls this afternoon from 289/290.  Not sure if 291/292 went last night also, or will go early next week?  All should be prepared to receive a call just in case!  Keep those phones close by!

navymomtrustingod:  Your screen name says it all....you are a believer and I hope you can take comfort in knowing that the Lord "has this!"  Just know that she has time to pass that swim test.  I know she missed BattleStations with her division, but she can do that with another group.  She will keep trying to pass her swim and then do BattleStations with the next group (sometimes it is even the next PIR group's BattleStations, but that's ok!).  Prayers that she will get it done!  They want her to pass and will work hard with her to get this done. She will get to try her swim until Wed morning.  That will be her last try in order to make her own PIR.  If she doesn't pass then (and we are praying she will!), she will stay in FIT trying 3 times a week until she passes, then do BattleStations and head straight to A School....no PIR once she passes her PIR date.

You may want to check out the FIT program group on here, because those ladies can be very helpful and you will meet others in your same position.

Hi Tami,

It looks like you want to order from the 70 Coins section--to send a message with the item number and coin name at www.pirgifts.com, you need to click Buy It Now with the number of coins you want which will bring you to a page with your address, the price for the coins and the shipping.

In the middle in blue is "Add a Message", click on this and put in the coin item numbers and names.  Then you can proceed with paying for the coins that you ordered.  You now have just enough time to order and receive them.  If you order today (Friday, August 2nd).  You should receive them by Wednesday, August 7th or earlier.  I hope you are also getting the RTC Ship coin where your SR is being housed.  It is the one where you have been sending your letters to and the matching name (USS) is above in the Discussion Forum.  This coin will be especially meaningful to your SR.  Don't get the one for his/her rating (job) yet as he/she needs to complete A school first (or be really close to finishing) before you can give that one to him/her.

navy06:  Contact Sarge  847 212 0246 for shuttle service.  Tell him you would like to share the cab with others he is picking up if you want to save more money.

Congrats to 287/288!
