Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I called the USO tonight at midway airport. They advised that we must obtain the family pass from the airline, not the USO, in order to visit with our sailor at the airport. They advised though that our sailor must visit the airline counter with us. This seems awkward since we cannot take him to the airport and he wrong have his cell phone until we meet up with himat the airport. Has anyone gone through this process?

She's been struggling a couple weeks. Her last letter indicated her concern. I hoped she'd be able to push through. Really glad they're giving her the chance to finish, but no graduation and no liberty.

So sorry to hear that mamaj2275! Did you have any idea she may not pass? How long has she been dealing with the tendonitis?

I did get a call from my SR in 939-- not good news for us. She didn't pass her fitness test (been battling tendinitis). She'll be held over for two weeks, then go straight to A school. Sigh. Hate it for her. Pretty rough phone call for her to make. But she'll get through it.
And it's a Good thing Southwest Airlines has no cancellation fees.
