OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi everyone, I am Lala, one of the volunteers for the PIR groups here to help you get through the boot camp experience. My daughter graduated boot camp July 23, 2010 and just finished her 4 years and is now out of the Navy. She is still living the Navy life since her husband reenlisted for 4 more years and is based at Coronado CA (way too far from home in NC) She will be going back to school to finish her degree in physical therapy/sports medicine very soon. I have been helping on this site since her PIR and I am also an admin in the facebook PIR groups. I am happy to help you all in any way I can. If you need anything or have any questions let me or another veteran mom here know and feel free to send me a friend request. The time in boot camp will pass much more quickly than you think and before long you will be there waiting for those big doors to open. We are so happy you found us, groups like this one and facebook will make this journey much easier :)

Hi Ladies . I'm so hapoy to be over in this group finally. Who has a SR in Ship 3 DIV 252?
Comment by diannep on June 27, 2014 at 9:09pm

Just a reminder that the mail is held from them for a couple of weeks until the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained.  Some get theirs trained a few days early and may receive their mail earlier.  Once they receive this held mail, they will have mail call M-F, but can only mail letters out Sunday.

Pretty neat, Proudcomom!

CC:  Sarge's MeetandGreet is the night before PIR. 5 - 9:30.

Just to clarify what FTLW said, any vehicles entering RTC must have a gate pass.  If you take a shuttle or park off base, you don't need the gate pass.

Proudcommon, my daughter Sam is in the same div 251 ship 3 , mailed out a few letters and a couple of cards.

Hi all, well my letter came today and his PIR is on Aug. 15th. He is on Ship 3 division 251. Anyone else with a loved one in that division. Funny thing is my SR is graduating around the same time my other sailor did 2 years ago about a week difference. My two sons were born 2 years 2 days apart and now they are going to graduate from the Navy 2 years apart.
