For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

The Navy Lodge is not actually located on RTC. It is about a mile and a half away. RTC is a restricted base so there isn't any lodging for personnel or dependants within it.
Everyone entering RTC must have a Gate Pass.Just an fyi :-)

Public....our kids are in the same ship/division. So exciting to be meeting you all here, it is what helps me so much! It's also nice at the lodge since you don't have to pass through the gate in the early morning. I stayed at Navy lodge in Pensacola and it was incredible.

Thanks everyone for the support. I want to mail my letters to him so bad, but I'm afraid to use the address I got from his recruiter because I've heard it could be wrong. I also booked at Navy Lodge.

You are very welcome on the Navy Lodge info! For those who did not book in their SR's name, they will change it when you arrive.
jappy: Lala Ribbon Queen, another of our N4Moms veterans (who makes wonderful PIR ribbons for you all to wear to the MeetandGreet and to PIR if you are interested!)....has more info on the makeup of the 900 divisions. Yes, they are the performing divisions, but she can tell you in more detail since her daughter was in a 900 division. She should be posting here soon!

Yes, thank you for that info. I just cancelled my reservation at the Mariott and got a much better deal with the Navy Lodge. Kitchen and all. I wouldn't of known without your info. It's going to be a great weekend!

diannep thanks for the tip for booking in our SRs name. I made the reservation without doing that. I called back and they said yes they should switch it. They did so very efficiently and even booked me into the right kind of room I wanted instead of my initial booking...thanks again!
