N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

diannep : I did get the address from the recruiter.I got a call Sat. from him and he said it was the right address and he sent me the form letter.I have sent several cards and told him no form letter and I need the password. We have had problems with getting other peoples mail so that could have happened. Will give it some time as we aren't close to PIR.

alexsmom:  Yes, the sailors are allowed to visit your hotel, but have to return to base at night.  Many welcome this "down time" and like to take a long hot shower....privately after showering with shipmates for so long...  :-) !   Although some RDCs in the past have told the sailors that they are NOT allowed to visit Navy Lodge after PIR, this is not true.  I checked it out with RTC last week....they said not true and they were going to try and get the proper info out to the RDCs.  Now, if staying at Navy GATEWAY Inn, which is on A School base there, those sailors who move over there for A School have to have a special "chit" to visit you at that hotel....but there is no problem getting that from what we hear.  Navy Lodge is not restricted like Gateway is.

So very sorry, SailorMom.  Seems that pneumonia is pretty common up there and they seem to recover from it, most without being delayed in their grad date.  Prayers for her to feel better soon!  I hope she can call tomorrow!

proudmom:  Write to your SR and ask that he/she send you the password for the gate pass.  That is really all you need.  Did you get the address from the recruiter?  Could the form letter have gone to someone else?  They only mail out one.  Your SR writes in the password so he/she should have no problem giving you that.

Got more letters from our SR today. She's not doing well. She still has pneumonia. She did tell us she should be getting her makeup call tomorrow, so we will be getting family together to talk to her, if the call doesn't come at 6 am again. Worried about her right now.

Still no command letter and Monday will be 3 weeks. How do I get a command letter with info so I can be able to get passes.

I still have heard nothing from my son. Starting to worry. I booked my hotel and flight. Can someone send me the link again for Sarge? I have been looking and can't seem to find it.

Is it true if you stay at Navy Lodge your son can come back with you for a visit?

I just got my 1st personnel letter from her!!  She says the food is AMAZING!  She is doing well, homesick and working hard...she is sounding good.   Ship03/Div 262.
